For the second day in a row, a UCMeP candidate for the ASUC exec board has separated themselves from the pack. Check out the coverage in the Daily Cal about UCMeP’s Academic Affairs Vice Presidential candidate:
Jessica Smith, UC Movement for Efficient Privatization candidate, said in an e-mail that she hopes to compensate for the campus budget shortfall by eliminating academic programs such as social sciences and humanities, which are less profitable to the university.
She said in the e-mail other candidates should support the administration rather than campaigning.
“The level of accountability that faculty, staff, and students have expected from the UC admins over the last year is truly appalling,” she said in the e-mail.
